Larry Fullerton Visual Communications Scholarship

THE 2026 APPLICATION HAS CLOSED. Scholarships for Ohio residents who are current undergraduate students, enrolled full time, returning to school for the fall term of the 2026-2027 school year and pursuing an education with an emphasis on photography, journalism, multimedia, and/or visual storytelling.

Qualifications:

Applicant must:
– Be a resident of the state of Ohio. Proof of residency is required.

– Be an undergraduate student, enrolled full time, returning to school for the fall term of the 2026-2027
school year and attending one of the following: (1) An accredited Ohio college or university offering a major or minor with an emphasis on photography, journalism, multimedia and/or visual storytelling,(2) An accredited Ohio junior college offering an associate degree with an emphasis on photography, journalism, multimedia and/or visual storytelling, (3) A school or institution offering a structured 2-year curriculum with an emphasis on photography, journalism, multimedia and/or visual storytelling. A syllabus must be provided from the program of study.

– Have a 2.5 or better cumulative grade point average. A copy of your transcript must be submitted.

– Submit a portfolio of no fewer than 10 and no more than 15 entries that demonstrate creativity, technical
excellence, versatility and the ability to communicate visually. This may include links to online
multimedia work.(Please ensure that links are active, working, and do not require a subscription.

– Include a statement that discusses your philosophy on the importance of visual storytelling, current
career goals, work experience and financial need.

$1,000-$2,000
