Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College was the first college in Ohio created by a vote of the people. Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, today Lakeland offers more than 140 associate degree and technical certificate programs leading to high demand careers or transfer to four-year institutions. Tuition remains one of the lowest in the state of Ohio. True to our mission, Lakeland provides quality learning opportunities to meet the social and economic needs of the community.
High school students can start earning college credit through Lakeland College Credit Plus (CCP) program, some even earn an associate degree before earning their high school diploma. Credits transfer smoothly to any Ohio public college as well as many other colleges and universities nationwide-Lakeland CCP students have transferred to colleges in 46 different states! Those choosing to stay closer to home have the option to continue at Lakeland for a bachelor’s or even a graduate degree from a variety of four-year partner institutions through Lakeland’s Holden University Center.
