The Junior League of Cleveland Scholarship
Scholarship for women overcoming adversity open to nontraditional students who have overcome obstacles to resume their education or were formerly a part of the foster care system. Must attend a fully-accredited college, technical program, or graduate school and be a permanent resident of one of the following counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina and Trumbull.
Qualifications:
Applicants must:
– Identify as a women
– Be either (1) a nontraditional student who has overcome obstacles to resume their education or (2) formerly in foster care
– Attend a fully-accredited college, technical program, or graduate school
– Be permanent residents of one of the following Ohio Counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina and Trumbull
A non-traditional student is defined as an applicant whose education was interrupted by (1) Life responsibilities such as work and/or family responsibilities, requiring her to pursue her post-high school education on an unconventional schedule, or (2) Unexpected challenges that prevented her from continuing to college after completing high school or requiring her to get a GED.
Award Amount:Up to $5,000
