Lakeland Area Counselors Association (LACA) Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
2. Be a graduating high school senior from an Ashtabula, Lake, or Geauga County High School with a current LACA member employed by the district. (Check with your School Counselor)
3. Minimum grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
4. Will enroll in a Certificate Program, Technical/Vocational College, a 2-year or 4-year institution in the 2025-2026 academic school year
SELECTION CRITERIA: Qualified candidates will be judged on the following:
– Evidence of involvement in community and school based activities and service
– School Counselor recommendation
– Essay
DOCUMENTATION:
– The Lakeland Area Counselors Association (“LACA”) Scholarship Application completed and signed. All questions must be answered. Additional sheets may be added if the space provided is insufficient. No other documents will be considered.
– One letter of recommendation, from your School Counselor
– Copy of your official high school transcript
– Essay
– Registration/College Acceptance Letter
DEADLINE: The application and all documents must be received no later than Friday, March 28, 2025. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Electronic applications only.
Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF) administers this scholarship. LEAF representatives, not associated with the LACA Scholarship, will select the recipient(s) to ensure objectivity and confidentiality. All applicants are notified by email. The selection process may take several weeks.
