Vincent L. Petro Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship for graduating seniors from Mentor High School who reside in Lake County, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and are enrolled full-time in a 2 or 4-year accredited institutional or an accredited vocational/technical school.

Qualifications:

Applicants must:
– Be a graduating senior from Mentor High School

– Reside in Lake County

– Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5

– Be enrolled full-time in a 2 or 4 year accredited institution or an accredited vocational/technical school

SELECTION CRITERIA:  Qualified candidates will be judged on the following:
– Financial Need
– Evidence of involvement in community and school based activities and service
– Recommendations

DOCUMENTATION:
– Application
– Copy of SAI from filing FAFSA 25
– Two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher and one from a community member who is not a relative.
– An official high school transcript
– Essays
– Financial Aid Award Letter

Your application and documentation must be completed no later than Friday, March 28, 2025.
 
Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF) administers this scholarship. LEAF representatives, not associated with the Vincent L. Petro Memorial Scholarship, will select the recipient(s) to ensure objectivity and confidentiality. All applicants are notified by email. The selection process may take several weeks.
